I cannot read this verse without tears filling my eyes as I remember the first time that I heard it. In one week my son had ran away from home, had an episode of self-mutilation, and we had made the traumatic decision to admit him to the psychiatric ward for observation. My mother’s pastor and church had been praying constantly for the situation and the Lord gave the pastor this verse, but told me to substitute my son’s name for every ‘you’ and ‘your’. I learned more about worship in the thirty seconds that it took to read, than I had in the months before when I thought I understood worship. Is it any wonder that I praise this God who delivers me and sustains me every day of my life through any situation that I am asked to go through? For the things that I am not able to handle without His strength, He lifts me gently and carries me until I can stand again.

Sustainer
Isaiah 46:4 “Even to your old age and gray hairs, I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you. I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
