The Fence
By Dave Marsh - Drama - Sep 03, 2009
| | A drama about being comfortable and sitting on the fence. Director's Notes:
I wrote this drama to get people off their butts and out to the 40 Days of Purpose series. Of course, this drama can also be used for topics such as 'sitting on the fence', 'commitment' and such.
I've got a fence graphic that you can put on the screen behind the actors. Right-click HERE and choose "Save Target As..."
Cast:
Robby: A guy who's on the fence
John: A friend
Monica: Robby's future wife
Props:

It's a God Thing
By Dave Marsh - Drama - June 30, 2009
| | A drama about Christian adventure.. Director's
Notes:
When people talk about a
difficult adventure or journey they went on, I usually think about hiking
on some mountian or across the country. God, however, sends us on difficult
journeys every day. These journeys start when we seek God's direction for
our lives through prayer and study. He will often then take us out of our
comfort zone and onto an adventure that we normally wouldn't take. In the
end, of course, we grow as Christians and our faith is strengthened as
we see Him prove his faithfu...read more |
The Johnson Account
By Dave Marsh - Drama - June 27, 2009
| | A drama about the Holy Spirit.. Director's
Notes:
You know what's so great
about the Holy Spirit? He works so wonderfully in the life of the believer.
He prompts, leads, comforts, and convicts (just to name a few!) If we are
quiet enough, we can hear the Spirit speak to our spirit. I can't imagine
what life would be like without His presence!
It's a shame that people
that don't know Him can't hear Him. Well, except in this drama, of course
:)

Jeff: A businessman.
April: A businesswoman.

Armor of What?
By Dave Marsh - Drama - June 23, 2009
| | A drama about putting on the armor of God.. Well, this drama could be
called "The Dilemma 3." I enjoy writing monologues where we get inside
someone's head as he/she is sitting in church. Pre-recorded voice over
works well here (again) until the Pastor comes in and starts talking with
him.
I've always loved the verses
from Ephesians 6 that talk about the armor of God. Pastor Ray did a great
job of explaining to us what each piece means to the believer.
Of course, the guy in this
drama is hillariously clueless...

Dave: A guy in church

Expect The Unexpected
By Dave Marsh - Drama - June 19, 2009
| | A drama about trusting God with the unexpected. Director's Notes:
Let's face it - life's rough. Jesus never promised a walk-in-the-park but, instead, He said that life was going to be full of trouble but He's here to help us through it. What a great thing to know! Life is always throwing the unexpected in our face and yet, to God, it's not unexpected at all.
It's good that He's in control, isn't it?!
BTW, I really dig these Twilight Zone-type dramas. Folks love 'em. You will need two different Twilight Zone audio files. Simply right click on each...read more |
The Insignificant Life of Horace Wimp
By Dave Marsh - Drama - June 17, 2009
| | A drama about building a life of purpose. Director's Notes:
I decided to bring Horace and Wendy back since Horace has always been a perfect
example of someone who takes things to the extreme. Life can sometimes seem so
useless or we can get fatalistic when we look at the world around us. We can get into a
rut where we feel like we're just on a big, blue treadmill. True joy and meaning come from
knowing and walking with Christ daily. Unfortunately, Horace has no clue...

Horace: Quite the fatalistic fellow
Wendy: A woma...read more |
The List
By Dave Marsh - Drama - June 15, 2009
| | A drama about Prayer.. Director's
Notes:
When I first became a Christian,
I would pray about everything. I mean,
every single thing - no
matter how small. We forget that the Father wants to hear every little
request. He delights in it. Somehow, just like the mom and dad in this
sketch, we grow older and forget this. This drama focuses on this and reminds
us to have child-like faith...

John: A dad
Wendy: A mom
Katie: Kid

What's the Difference?
By Dave Marsh - Drama - June 12, 2009
| | A drama about small groups.. Director's
Notes:
I find it extremely easy
to understand why fellowship is ranked up there with
prayer and Bible study.
I've been in a small group for 15 years and there's no doubt in my mind
that the fellowship, transparency, accountability, and study has kept me
on the narrow road...
This drama is really emphasising
that WE need to be responsible for actively seeking to grow in our relationships
- I.E. a small group. In this case, Rich (annoying as he might be! :),
has chosen not to get involved in a small gr...read more |
Yes or No?
By Dave Marsh - Drama - June 10, 2009
| | A drama about integrity.. Director's
Notes:
In Matthew 5, Jesus tells
us to let your "'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' `No'; anything
beyond this comes from the
evil one." Jesus is bringing up an issue of integrity. Where do you
stand on this issue? Is your word as good as gold? Can people rely on you
if you tell them that you will do something?
This drama shows that anywhere,
even within our family, if we say we will do something, we need to
do it.
Cast:
Dan: A husband
Jackie: A wife
Skip: Dan's friend

The Hike
By Dave Marsh - Drama - June 08, 2009
| | A drama about following God for the long run. Director's Notes:
When we become Christians, we say "Take my life, Lord." We then enter an exciting
journey, walking down the narrow road. Unfortunately, it's easy to become
comfortable at some bend in that road and decide that this is far enough for now. I
wrote this drama to make a point that we need to finish this hike we're on - like we
said we would. Why do we settle for the base of the mountain when it's far more
wonderful above the treeline?
Cast:
John: A hiker that wants to foll...read more |
