Daniel is an interesting study for those who like to delve into the thought process of great leaders. First was his ability to remain calm under pressure. Without benefit of a trial, the wise men who failed to interpret King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream were executed. Daniel and his friends were next on the hit list. The Bible says that Daniel spoke with “wisdom and tact” while trying to extract an explanation for such a harsh punishment. Daniel then proceeded to ask for a time extension and did what we should do in times of crisis, he called his good friends to plead for mercy from God so that the mystery of the dream would be solved. Mission accomplished and Daniel gives all praise and honor back to the One from whom all wisdom comes. He didn’t take a quick bow and then point to the heavens, he gave all praise to God.
