Apply for This Job Senior Pastor Bethlehem Church Stanley, VA Posted: April 04, 2024     Job Information: Who we are: Bethlehem Church is an independent, nondenominational church located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Founded in 1873, we have experienced considerable growth in the last 3 years. We are a multi-generational congregation of approximately 325, including many youth and young adults. We provide two Sunday services, Wednesday night services, children's and youth activities, and we are actively involved in our local community. We are seeking a senior pastor who will shepherd us and provide spiritual and administrative leadership to our congregation. We seek someone who will come alongside us to disciple and encourage believers, as well as seek and save the lost. As stated in our bylaws: The Senior Pastor is responsible for leading the church body in functioning as a New Testament church. He is responsible for the spiritual health and well-being of the church and will work along with the other pastors and deacons to shape and carry out the vision of the church. The pastor, as with all members in leadership, must maintain a strong professional image reflective of the church mission. He must be bold in the faith and lead a lifestyle reflective of the characteristics outlined in the scriptures, 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-15. He will be the leader of the pastoral ministries of the church. As such, the Senior Pastor will work with the leadership to: 1. Lead the Church to engage in fellowship of worship, witness, education, ministry, and application. 2. Proclaim the gospel to believers and unbelievers 3. Care for and minister to church members and other persons in the community 4. Oversee, along with the leadership, church disciplinary matters 5. Disciple and train current and new leaders Duties and Responsibilities Preaching/Teaching: -Encourage spiritual growth through Biblical preaching -Boldly preach the whole counsel of God, even when not culturally accepted - Foster a culture of evangelism, prayer, discipleship, and worship -Together with the leadership, plan and orchestrate weekly services and special events Leadership -Encourage and lead the church members to use their spiritual gifts for God's service -Coordinate staff, leadership teams, and volunteers to accomplish the mission of the church -Provide guidance in the planning and execution of church programs, events and activities.
