Job Information:
Purpose: This position oversees ministries to children that are gospel-centered and make and equip children (and their parents) to be and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Vision
a. Promote and execute Village Seven Presbyterian Church's vision,
mission, strategy, and growth initiatives
b. Provide leadership to the Children's Ministries staff and volunteers
through vision, strategic planning, budgeting, and implementation of
church policies
c. Communicate V7PC's vision regularly to parents, volunteers, and the
congregation as a whole

2. Program Implementation
a. Plan, oversee, and follow up on the logistics of weekly programs
b. Develop and maintain doctrinally sound programs/events in a
welcoming, child-friendly, and safe environment
c. Interact with children and parents to get to know them and assess
needs for providing relevant ministries
d. Supervise paid staff and volunteers
i. Interview, hire, and train all Trailhead (nursery) and Base Camp
(elementary) paid staff
ii. Ensure that all staff are properly scheduled, including coordinating
time sheets with admin office
iii. Ensure that all staff training is completed, including First Aid, CPR,
and Ministry Safe
iv. Ensure that staff are properly trained and supervised as they
clean toys, equipment, and laundry
v. Assist the Coordinators in recruiting, training, and implementing
volunteers from within church membership
vi. Maintain volunteer reminder system
e. Provide adequate staffing for all church functions that require childcare,
maintaining appropriate adult/child ratios
i. Provide ministry leaders with a reservation procedure to determine
the number of children and their ages
ii. Manage reservations for special church-wide events
iii. Prepare to teach or assist as needed
f. Ensure the Child Protection policies and operating procedures are
followed
g. Develop programs and initiatives as directed by Session

3. Discipleship & Community Building
a. Provide resources for family discipleship
b. Use articles, website, and other means to communicate to parents
c. Provide training and continuing education opportunities for staff and
volunteers in areas such as: teaching, communicating with children
and parents, and classroom management
d. Meet individually with parents/families to connect relationally with them
e. Pray regularly for the ministry


Minimum Requirements:

Faith:
This position must be held by an individual who is an active, practicing evangelical Christian who is committed to the church's vision and mission, agrees with our Statement of Faith, and subscribes to the Westminster Confession and Catechisms. There is no other background that can substitute for this requirement.
Education:
Degree in Childhood Education or comparable experience (5+ years) in children or youth discipleship.

Experience/Other:
At least five years of youth or children's ministry experience including
curriculum selection, volunteer recruiting and large event organization.
A strong call to develop and shepherd adults to desire to disciple children in
such a way that they grow to be Christ-changed, hope-filled, productive
adults.
Love for children and a desire to see them grow in their faith.
Church membership, including commitment to Village Seven's vision and
mission.
Desire to grow in personal faith through faithful attendance in Sunday
morning worship.

Pay and Benefits:
The salary rate range for this full-time position (minimum 40 hours per week) is $45,000 to $58,000. Benefits include health insurance (employer pays 80% of premiums), TSA match, Vacation time (20 days), Holidays (10 days), and Sick leave (up to 12 days).
