Apply for This Job Senior Pastor The Church at Deerfield Beach Deerfield Beach, FL Posted: September 02, 2021     Job Information: RESPONSIBILITIES **Preaching: ~Inspire people into deeper and closer relationships with Christ through preaching and teaching ~Provide weekly expository, verse by verse sermon(s) as inspired by the Holy Spirit to the congregation ~Seek to discern God's message for the congregation and spend significant time and effort using professional skills to develop and deliver that message to the best of one's ability **Vision Casting: ~Work with the Elders to plan for long-term ministry goals ~Demonstrate maturity in discerning the will of God in setting the direction for the church ~Provide spiritual oversight to the church by ensuring that all events and activities are consistent with the Bible as well as the mission, vision, and values of TCDFB **Staff Leadership: ~Provide oversight and direction to the church staff (including performance evaluations and development plans) **Congregational Leadership: ~Lead the equipping, training, and developing of leaders within the church ~Exhibit a passion for ministry ~Lead by example ~Work shoulder-to-shoulder with ministry leaders and volunteers in the ministries of the church ~Safeguard the church from theological and doctrinal error **Cooperation: ~Exhibit strong diplomatic skills and lead within the context of a congregational style of church governance ~Be accountable to the Elders of TCDFB ~Have a strong desire and skills to recruit and develop the leadership qualities in others ~Empower those in ministry leadership positions to collaborate and implement ministry objectives **Relational: ~Work with and relate to staff, Elders, ministry leaders, volunteers and the congregation as a whole ~Show evidence of love for people while reaching out, developing relationships, and showing compassion for the triumphs and problems in their lives **Prayer: ~Seek and promote prayer as a priority, both personally and in the life of the church **Outreach/Service: ~Aim to develop and maintain relationships in the local community to promote community and service outreach opportunities **Evaluation/Development: ~Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of programs and propose creative ideas for improvement ~Actively seek and implement innovative technology solutions to advance the mission, vision, and values of TCDFB **Administrative: ~Administer and adhere to the ordinances of the church ~Conduct pastoral care, visitation, and counseling in cooperation with the Elders and other church staff ~Officiate weddings, funerals, baptisms, and baby dedications in partnership with other church staff ~Participate in the planning of the annual budget in cooperation with the Stewardship Team and the Elders in preparation for congregational affirmation QUALIFICATIONS **Personal: ~A clear testimony of saving faith in Jesus Christ ~A belief in the inspired, inerrant, infallible and sufficient Word of God and a passion to live by it ~A character that exhibits the qualities outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9, and 1 Peter 5:2-4 ~A lifestyle demonstrating consistent spiritual and moral characteristics which are in harmony with the covenant adopted by TCDFB ~An ability to relate to individuals with compassion, sensitivity, honesty, openness, and confidence ~A pattern of commitment to regular personal accountability with the Elders ~A recognition for the need to maintain personal free time for himself and his family **Professional: ~An evident gift for preaching and teaching the Word of God ~The wisdom to accurately interpret the Bible and discover its meaning ~The gift to discern God's will and lead a congregation to that goal ~Enthusiasm for creating a long-term vision and being an active champion for it in collaboration with the Elders ~The capability to work effectively in a cooperative leadership environment. ~Proven ability to multitask in challenging situations ~Possess a spirit of cooperation, peace, reconciliation, and fellowship within the church body ~Demonstrate a passionate, heartfelt love for people with a Christ-like concern for their spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional well-being ~Exhibit Christ's love by developing positive and encouraging relationships within the church body APPLICATION PROCESS *Interested applicants should apply by sending their resume to pastorsearch@dfb.church *Must be able to pass a criminal record background check and credit check *Must provide a minimum of 3 references     Position Information: Position Title: Senior Pastor Time: Full Time Category: Senior Pastor Salary: Denomination: Baptist -
