Apply for This Job Minister of Students and Music Grace Baptist Church Bakersfield, CA Posted: July 05, 2016     Job Information: MINISTER OF STUDENTS AND MUISC JOB DESCRIPTION Overview Grace Baptist Church is a fellowship of followers of Jesus Christ covenanted around the mission to Love God, Love Others, and Reach the World. Grace Baptist Church is located in Bakersfield, CA and our worship services and ministries minister to over 350 people on a weekly basis. The church is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and is an elder-led, congregationally-ruled church. Our senior pastor is Dr. Andy Prince. Grace Baptist Church is focused on reaching the un-churched in its community, equipping new disciples, and desires to continue to grow, with the vision of planting a new church from our congregation. Grace Baptist Church is now seeking a Minister of Students and Music. The Minister of Students and Music is a combined position split 75/25 (75% Student Ministry and 25% Music ministry). The Minister of Students and Music is to minster to the 7th-12th grade students of the church, as well as lead the music ministry of church by overseeing all aspects of these ministries. He is first a minister for the youth because these are the people who are least knowledgeable and least experienced in the Christian life. He is next a minister for the parents of these students because they are in the greatest position to influence the young. He then has the responsibility to lead, administrate, grow, and develop the music ministry of GBC. This person will work closely with the pastoral team and elders to implement the church's mission and provide leadership in helping our students and music teams grow in their relationship with God through His Word and prayer; by encouraging obedience to Christ; by equipping students and music team members to walk in fellowship with each other; by assisting in training them to build relationships intentionally to share the gospel; and, assisting them to discover and use their spiritual gifts to grow God's church. Helping students and music team members to apply God's Word to their lives and be able to help others to know God's Word is essential to the ministry of this position. The compensation for this position is $45.000, plus medical insurance compensation, retirement and vacation.
