At Shiloh Community Church, it is the responsibility of the Worship Pastor to lead our body into the presence of God. Worship should be life-giving, exciting, and powerful. The Worship Pastor's life should reflect a "Lifestyle of Worship", so that he may lead others by example and not simply by instruction. He should be both filled with and led by God's Spirit. He must maintain a close personal relationship with God through reading, study, prayer and accountability. It is in this spirit of love and cooperation with God that the worship pastor exhibits the following:
He is an anointed and gifted singer and musician He is passionate about his relationship with God and possesses a contagious spirit for worship He is able to lead and inspire others and also serve with a joyful, submissive spirit Brings excitement, energy, focus and vision to our Sunday worship experience Responsible for weekly rehearsals to ensure that the musical component of our worship experience is done with professionalism and excellence Expected to choose songs that complement the weekly messages Will serve under the leadership and in cooperation with the lead pastor and elders Possesses a desire to identify, train and build a youth band from our pre-teen and teen (Reckless) ministry He will also be a small group leader (in the worship team) thus providing spiritual leadership, prayer, devotional thoughts and additional discussion about the Sunday message
Technical Support: Knowledge of current technology and has the desire to explore how to provide the optimum HD worship experience Create periodic auditions for those church members who are interested in serving on the worship team
Creative Arts Pastor responsibilities: Build a team of volunteers who can creatively design and implement stage/auditorium sets for new sermon series and special holiday services Create creative and engaging videos for series introductions, podcasts, website, announcements, and small groups Develop and improve social media mediums to communicate to our body and those outside the church Create graphic designs to support new series branding
Administrative responsibilities: Provides leadership and oversight for development, approval, managing and implementing worship and creative arts annual budget Attends weekly staff meetings and monthly elder's meetings
Spiritual growth and personal development: Demonstrates a personal commitment to spiritual growth by spending time with God daily Meets characteristics of an elder as outlined in 1 Tim 3 and Titus 1 Passion for people, the lost, outreach and fostering community relations If married, his marriage is a priority and he constantly strives to improve his marriage He sets appropriate boundaries in his personal and ministry life to protect his character and integrity
Qualifications: Minimum four-year degree from an accredited university Graduate of bible college or seminary preferred 3-5 years minimum experience as worship pastor and with creative arts In agreement with our mission, vision, statement of faith and core values Salary commensurate with experience
