A young, urban growing church in Central Arkansas has an immediate opening for an Associate Minister of Music & Arts/Organist. Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church (PHUMC) is a 4,000+ member congregation with five weekly worship services (three traditional and two contemporary) reaching an average attendance of nearly 1,100 each week. The primary focus of this full-time position is to serve as the organist and accompanist for three weekly traditional worship services, funerals, special services and choir rehearsals. Secondary responsibilities may include accompanying or assisting with a children's or youth choir, or directing a handbell choir.
The organ is a three manual, 74 rank Nichols and Simpson (1998) main organ and antiphonal.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in organ performance, experience in accompanying large choirs, and working with and recruiting volunteers. The candidate must be creative, organized, self-starting, outgoing, and have the ability to communicate with a diverse team of staff, church members, guests, and volunteers.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience. PHUMC offers a generous benefit package which includes insurance, retirement and earned time off.
