Organist (Part-time)- Coker United Methodist Church, San Antonio, TX is seeking a part-time organist to provide organ and piano support in rehearsal and worship, accompanying choirs, soloists, instrumentalists and other musical groups. The organist assists in coordinating the church music program to meet the spiritual and educational needs of all age groups consistent with church doctrine and Christian principles. The mission of Coker UMC is to LOVE GOD + SERVE OTHERS + CHANGE THE WORLD.
The organist plays for two Sunday morning Sanctuary services (8:15 and 11:00) and special services as requested, as well as for rehearsals for the Chancel Choir (1 1/2 hours on Wednesday nights) and the Agape Choir (45 minute rehearsal on Sunday morning). Applicants should submit a resume and audition CD by October 31 to Wendy Roten, c/o Coker UMC, 231 E. North Loop Road, San Antonio, TX 78216-1812. Audition CD should include examples of worship service music, e.g., prelude, offertory, hymn, accompaniment of choral anthem if possible, and postlude.
