Job Information:
This position is primarily responsible for building and delivering a faith-centered children's ministry program including but not limited to coordinating and overseeing all Christian education functions for children, birth through Grade 5, Nursery staffing and coordination, planning special events for children and family, community outreach, and supporting the mission and vision of First Methodist Grapevine by effectively utilizing Children's Ministry to help accomplish those goals. Position Responsibilities: Coordinate, plan and deliver an effective children's ministry program. Evaluate, select and facilitate curriculum for Sunday School . Oversight and coordination of teachers/volunteers, curriculum and classroom space. Leads children's discipleship small groups Oversight of Nursery through supervision of Children's Ministry Coordinator and Caregiver Team. Plan and coordinate Vacation Bible School. Select and guide director team. Coordination of Dedications and Presentations for children, including: Third Grade Bibles, Kindergarten Prayer Buddies, and Blessing of the Babies Plan and coordinate special events for children and families, celebrating Christmas, Lent and Easter. Register FUMCG 3rd grade children and attend Conference Bible Camp in September Plan, coordinate and deliver the Children's Message during church services Train acolytes and recruit leader to administer services schedule Recruits and leads Children's Council or similar lay leadership group Administer, manage and track the children's ministry budget. Develop and maintain a pastoral relationship with the children and their parents. Work closely with the Director of Student Ministries to create smooth transitions for children moving into Middle School Coordinate the Safe Sanctuary System for volunteers and other Child Safety Programs compliant with CTC guidelines Keep current with changes and trends in Christian Education that affect ministry to children and families Required Experience and Skills: Be committed to living and modeling a lifestyle of Godly integrity and humility Be in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ Be a flexible self-starter who is dedicated, dependable, and enthusiastic and possesses a highly motivated personality Possess the ability to effectively relate to children of all ages beginning with infants, pre-school through fifth grade Possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written to allow successful interaction with church staff, children, parents and volunteers. Have good listening skills and able to pray and play with children within healthy boundaries Have the ability to recruit, train, support and encourage volunteers to deliver quality programs and to ensure the effective use of resources Possess Computer Skills Must possess outstanding organizational skills and have the ability to handle multiple priorities Flexible hours Must be comfortable with public speaking Must have experience in leading Children's Ministry The position profile in no way states or implies that the duties/functions listed are the only duties/functions to be performed by the incumbent.
