Apply for This Job Senior Pastor Church of the Valley San Ramon, CA Posted: August 11, 2018     Job Information: Church of the Valley San Ramon, California USA JOB TITLE: Senior Pastor HOURS: Full Time/Salaried/Exempt/Pastoral Staff REPORTS TO: Church Board of Elders DENOMINATIONS: American Baptist PURPOSE/SCOPE OF JOB: The Senior Pastor shall lead the Church to accomplish its purpose by teaching and preaching biblical truth and providing vision. The Senior Pastor reports to the Elder Board and serves as a member. The Pastor shall lead the Staff by directing them in their area of management of Church operations. The Pastor shall direct the Deacons in their duties of pastoral care. The Pastor shall be responsible for creation, implementation and execution of the approved Church budget. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: The Pastor shall be accountable to the Board in the implementation of his job description, long-range goals, strategies of the Church, and efficient use of the funds allotted for spending. PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES: Preach and teach the word of God. Develop the long-range vision for the church. Develop the strategies to accomplish the vision for the church. Hire the staff to carry out the strategies and to accomplish the vision. Develop and grow the staff by mentoring and investing in them. Hold staff accountable for managing their job responsibilities while caring for their personal lives and families. Protect the unity of the church. Develop, equip, encourage and grow lay leaders by meeting with them regularly. Connect with other evangelical churches in the San Ramon Valley for prayer and strategizing of how to reach the valley for Christ. Manage the new members process. Build a healthy spirit lead church by: Emphasizing worship as a way of life for every member and attender. Ensuring that every member has a ministry. Expecting every member to be trained in how to share the good news of Jesus Christ/making sure that the congregation knows that evangelism will be a major thrust of all we do. Encourage each member to experience the joy of discipleship.
