Student Ministry Associate
Position Purpose
To be an innovative advocate to build a strong Student Ministry program for Middle School and High School students within Church of the Incarnation. Work closely with the Director of Student Ministry, Student Ministry Administrator, church staff, and volunteers to increase student participation and build long-term relationships with students within Student Ministry.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities *Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Provide leadership to student ministry programs as determined in consultation with the Director of Student Ministry. -Implement various Student Ministry programs, events, and trips to assure a superior experience for students and adult volunteers. -Maintain effective communication with Director of Student Ministry and Student Ministry -Administrator to ensure a team approach. -Offer compassionate and caring response to youth and their families as needed. -Seek and complete continuing education opportunities designed to enhance knowledge and expand skills associated with this position.
Job Qualifications
-Be a natural relationship builder who has a passion for youth and possessesthe ability to work well with them. -Be able to develop and grow long-term relationships with students. -Be a self-starter and able to work independently on programs and assignments demonstrating flexibility during rapidly changing priorities. -Ability to self-manage in pursuit of an end goal and to perform responsibilities independently. -Possess the ability to work on multiple assignments concurrently. -Demonstrate leadership skills in directing both small and large groups of youth and adults. -Have excellent organizational, people, and communication skills. -Be innovative in the use of social medial to maintain strong communications with students, parents and volunteers. -Show commitment to the values, mission, and vision of Church of the Incarnation. -Required HS– preferred College Degree or working toward college degree or equivalent experience. -Prior experience working with youth in a church setting(children'scamps, teaching, bible studies, etc.).
