The ideal candidate will
Exhibit a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and model spiritual maturity. Preach the Word faithfully, teach sound doctrine, and clearly articulate the Gospel. Lead the church in fulfilling its mission through discipleship, outreach, and pastoral care. Demonstrate a heart for rural communities, with an understanding of and cooperation with public and homeschool families. Collaborate with elders and ministry teams in equipping the church body for service and spiritual growth. Care deeply for people—offering counsel, support, and encouragement in times of need. The pastor is responsible to the church to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach the biblical revelation, to engage in pastoral care ministries, to provide administrative leadership in all areas of church life.
Responsibilities
Plan and conduct the worship services; prepare and deliver sermons; lead in observance of ordinances. (Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26) Lead the church in an effective program of witnessing and in caring ministry for persons in the church and community. (Matthew 22:39) Visit members and prospects. (Matthew 18:15-20) Conduct counseling sessions; perform wedding ceremonies; conduct funerals. Serve along with the elder board for all church ministries to lead in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the church ministries. (Ephesians 4:11-16) Work with deacons, church officers, and committees/teams as they perform their assigned responsibilities; train and lead the deacons in their ministry. Cooperate with local and surrounding area church leaders in matters of mutual interest and concern; keep the church informed of developments; represent the church in civic matters. (Acts 1:8) Serve as chief administrator of the paid and voluntary church staff; supervise the work of the staff. (Ephesians 4:16) Ensure active involvement with New Life Bible Camp in Lake Bronson, MN. Preferred Qualifications
A degree in theology, ministry, or biblical studies. Agreement with the church's doctrinal statement. Experience in preaching, pastoral leadership, and relational ministry. *The position of pastor is a full time role, while the church acknowledges that the pastor's work cannot be rigidly regulated because of the nature of ministry, it is anticipated that consistency in office hours will be maintained. Crisis situations and emergencies along with meetings and a heavy schedule may alter the pastor's schedule and sometimes necessitate his arranging his work and leisure at his own convenience. Despite weekend work and evening obligations, the pastor must find some time to spend with his family and for his own personal needs.
