Apply for This Job Youth Director/Pastoral Assistant/Associate Pastor Greenfield Baptist Church North East, PA Posted: June 12, 2025     Job Information: Youth Director/Pastoral Assistant/Associate Pastor Job Description GREENFIELD BAPTIST CHURCH 9028 Williams Road North East, PA 16428-5610 814-725-4160 DEFINITION: This is a Full time professional position in the field of children/youth/young adult ministry and Christian education. Work is performed under direct supervision of the Pastor, with annual performance evaluation by the Pastor and the pastoral relations committee. DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Youth Ministry - Ambition to lead a ministry with adolescents that nurtures youth toward Christian faith commitment and discipleship. Leadership Development - Ability to recognize and call forth potential leaders and provide opportunities for their training and growth. Education/Teaching/Preaching - Ability to plan and implement a teaching ministry that is based on sound theological, educational, and historical foundations. Ability to enable another to learn using methods and materials appropriate for the learner's age and situation. Evangelism - Ability to lead persons to make decisions for Christ and encourage their identification with and participation in the local church. Program Development - Ability to design and implement organizational, educational, religious, recreational and/or social programs for children and youth groups. Spiritual Life Development - Ability to guide young people individually or in groups in understanding and enhancing the spiritual dimensions of their personal lives. Conflict Management - Ability to resolve conflict situations with people and groups for the sake of the church's ministry. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. 2. Direct and promote a balanced program of Youth Ministry/Christian Education, including a program for children in grades Pre K-6, 7TH � 12TH, and young Adults. 3. Coordinate and participate in children/youth/young adults church services, meetings, camping, retreats and special events. 4. Recruit and train other adult advisors. 5. Assist in pastoral duties with primary focus on children/youth/young adults and their families. GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS - The successful candidate will: 1. Have a desire to help individuals come to a spiritual commitment to Christ. 2. Strive in word and deed to exemplify the Christian faith, seeking to make the ministry positive, inviting and helpful. 3. Strive to strengthen children/youth/young Adults and their families in their spiritual growth. 4. Become a member of Greenfield Baptist Church. 5. Participate in Sunday School, Wednesday Nights, and Worship Services, assisting in communion and preaching when requested. 6. Make a minimum three-year commitment to Greenfield Baptist Church. 7. Attend meetings of, and report to, the Board of Christian Education, Church Council and church business meetings. 8. Must pass a criminal background check, Child Abuse clearance, FBI Fingerprints, Drug Test and complete Mandated Reporter Training. QUALIFICATIONS: A calling to youth ministry or a related field. Preferred two years experience working with youth/children/Young Adult, OR equivalent combination of education and experience. COMPENSATION PACKAGE: Compensation range: Salary $30,000 - $40,000 (plus a parsonage and utilities) depending on experience, plus benefits, excellent medical insurance, dental insurance, eye insurance and a retirement plan.
