Role Summary FCCH has recently adopted a model of shared pastoral leadership. We are prayerfully seeking a Lead Pastor of Preaching and Teaching who will join with our current Lead Pastor of Care and Outreach and the Board of Elders to form the central leadership of the church. Within this framework, her or his primary responsibilities will be preaching the Word, organizing corporate worship, overseeing adult education, and managing staff and volunteer leaders.
Accountability Both Lead Pastors will report and be equally accountable to the Elder Board and by extension the congregation.
Essential Duties Preaching and Teaching Provide overall direction for sermon planning and delivery in conjunction with the Lead Pastor of
Care and Outreach Responsible for the majority of Sunday morning preaching Develop a vision and execute a program for adult education Leadership and Management Organization and execution of the weekly corporate worship service Manage staff to provide guidance, feedback, evaluation, and professional growth Create strategic vision and organizational leadership with the Elder Board and Lead Pastors Provide support to the responsibilities and initiatives of the Lead Pastor of Care and Outreach
Required Qualifications Biblical qualifications of an Elder (1 Tim 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9) A Master of Divinity with a command of Biblical languages or comparable degree At least 5 years experience in a pastoral role Ability to proclaim the Word of God to edify listeners at varying levels of spiritual maturity Upholding the FCCH Statement of Faith and our commitments to the CCCC (see the church profile) Ability to embrace our shared leadership model
Desired Characteristics A humble, relational, and teachable servant leader A deep love for people, particularly serving the vulnerable and reaching the lost A desire to pursue relationships of discipleship Ability to balance engaging diverse perspectives while holding strongly to the authority of Scripture Strong executive and organizational skills
