The Meeting Place Learning Center (TMPLC) is a faith-based, after school program that emphasizes academic excellence while nurturing the whole child-using activities and interventions to support academic, emotional and social growth in high risk students.
Our students come from some of the most under-resourced neighborhoods, TMPLC helps children have new and abundant life (James 2:16). The culture of TMPLC is FAITH based, people-focused and ‘loving' the whole child. TMPLC is a not for profit organization. Individuals employed by TMPLC are working in several roles and perform all or some of the following responsibilities: sharing the Gospel, leading Bible studies, disciplining students and modeling behavior that is consistent with Christ's teaching.
Overview
This role reports directly to the classroom teacher with responsibilities of assisting with the design and implementation of educational programs, services and logistics.
Responsibilities
Partnering with classroom teacher to effectively create, plan and execute programs, enrichments, services and activities that engage students in learning and encourage each child to do his/her best.
Create a learning environment that enables youth development consistent with the TMPLC mission and vision.
Working with classroom teacher, staff, faculty to develop, support and follow planned schedules and activities, programs, services or enrichments.
Assist classroom teach prepare the room daily for the class.
Assist students with their daily activities.
Maintain a clean and sanitary classroom environment by ensuring supplies, equipment and tables/chairs are cleaned as required.
Attend all training classes and faculty meetings.
Complete all professional development as required.
Maintain a clean and sanitary classroom environment by ensuring supplies, equipment and tables are cleaned before and after programs, enrichments or activities.
Performs other duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications
A personal and saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
Models biblical principles.
The position requires a Christ-like servant leader who has a sense of calling.
Member of a Bible believing church or an active participant in a Bible believing church.

Education and Experience
High school diploma, or equivalent required.
School-age endorsement preferred.
Work Environment
This job operates in a classroom environment. This role routinely uses educational equipment such as computers, blackboards, desk, chairs, books, art supplies, etc.
Physical Demands
This role may require you to move equipment from room to room and lift up to 30 pounds. Individual must be able to comfortably move quickly up and down stairs. Manual dexterity to perform work on a computer or other office equipment. May require extended periods of sitting, standing or walking.

Salary: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour, based on experience

Schedule: Day shift; Monday to Friday; No weekends

Experience:
Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification: Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
