The Director of Communications must be a Christian who understands and familiar with the doctrine of the Restoration Church. This candidate must be able to work with church leadership and volunteers, and to abide by the Policies and Procedures set forth by Fairway Christian Church. This candidate must be able to articulate effectively, both in writing and orally inside and outside the church, our Mission Statement of glorifying God by bringing people to Christ by providing a clear understanding of the church's culture and vision. This candidate will have good marketing, managerial, and organizational skills. This candidate must be able to work on many projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities include but not limited to: Develops strategies for organizational communication, ensures that all communicate the vision and mission of the organization. Works with Preaching Minister and Worship Minister to create visual identity for weekend services. Works with the leadership team to develop and maintain consistent church messaging and brand identity. Oversees the production of all church communications to ensure that they are consistent with the branding identity, messaging, and mission of the church. Works daily with the internal management team and external consultants, when necessary, to implement and manage a master communications plan that promotes the church's larger vision and mission. Manages, hires, and develops all external vendors used for church communications. Supervises and manages the vendor in charge of online activities to ensure brand and content consistency. Writes, edits, and oversees the design, layout, and production of all church communications. Develops and maintains connections to local media by establishing and maintaining influential media contacts. Designs and develops all church advertisements. Regularly maintains by updating the church's website and social media accounts, focusing on our mission, and making it easy to access. Designs and oversees the placement of the signage in the building and on the grounds. Tracks our progress by regularly monitoring and reporting communications. Oversees and manages the communications budget. Demonstrates leadership by identifying, recruiting, and developing a team of marketing and ministry volunteers to execute the communication plans. Trains, equips, and empowers leaders on how to communicate their ministry's vision and programming. Connects with church members. Visits all ministries on a regular basis helping to communicate their context to the whole community and to the general public. Works with staff and volunteer leaders to create campaigns that attract, invite, and welcome newcomers and nearby residents to our events.
