Apply for This Job Family Pastor Common Ground Carson City, NV Posted: December 03, 2021     Job Information: Family Pastor Family Pastor Role – Help shepherd and disciple families primarily through the kid's ministry and small group ministry while supervising the youth pastor. Help families raise children who will change the world for Christ! Common Ground is a healthy and growing church in Carson City Nevada looking for a man with a passion to disciple families. God is on the move and we need to keep up with what He is doing! The ideal individual will be ambitious to growing God's kingdom looking to consistently move ministries forward. This person will not be merely a manager, but a leader. We need someone with a good track record of building ministries and investing in parents and kids. Our mission is to connect people to the abundant life only found through an abiding relationship with Jesus! These are not just words to us. Our vision, or unique calling is to fuel a movement of Gods people surrendered to His mission wherever He places us. We are part of a movement of God and desire to see God's movement gain momentum. Be an important member of a healthy team! Common Ground is 6 years old and has been able to keep things simple. We do not have a lot of programs. Our primary emphasis other than the Sunday service is real life discipleship and bible study in our weekly home groups. These groups discuss the sermon from the previous week and study additional passages in a very relational way. We are also committed to having a great kids ministry beginning with Sunday school during the Sunday services for kids through 5th grade. Common Ground has a passion to make a difference in the community. We offer few programs with the intention of sending God's people into their communities to make a difference. Common Ground has the desire to see churches planted in communities to serve those communities. Roughly 5% of the population in northern Nevada attends church consistently. That means the fields are truly white for harvest. We currently have a quality Sunday experience for kids and believe it is the right time for the ministry to grow beyond Sunday mornings. We hope to see parents shepherded into teaching and leading their families well through the week. We desire to see connection opportunities created for families in the community who are not yet part of a church family. Responsibilities: 1. Lead the kids/parent's ministry a. Oversee a team to create and maintain an amazing Sunday experience for kids up to 5th grade. b. Shepherd parents to lead their families and teach their kids. This would include something week to week connecting parents to what the kids are learning as well as providing other training and help to parents. c. Lead the ministry to reach kids and families not yet part of a church. d. Provide opportunities for service and growth such as VBS, sports camp, summer camp, etc. 2. Lead the small group ministry. This is our most important ministry. a. Lead a group b. Train existing group leaders c. Write group questions based on the sermon d. Be sure group leaders are prepared each week to pastor and lead those in their group. 3. Supervise the youth pastor a. We have a quality youth pastor and a healthy youth group. Come alongside the youth pastor and help him thrive and succeed. 4. Preach at least 2 times per year 5. Be part of the team a. Common Ground church is staff led and elder protected. The elders are the final authority, but the staff team drives the mission of the church day to day. The staff team is a close-knit group committed to one another and the mission of the church. We currently have a lead pastor, a worship/executive pastor, a youth pastor, an administrator, and a children's ministry director.
