Apply for This Job Senior Pastor Renaissance Vineyard Church Ferndale, MI Posted: September 15, 2021     Job Information: The Renaissance Vineyard Church is looking to hire a new full-time senior pastor to serve as leader of the church. RenVC is a Jesus-centered community that's a great friend to the city, so that a growing number of people from diverse backgrounds may experience transforming wholeness as they abide in Jesus and bear fruit in their lives. We do this as we are rooted in God, grow in community, and reach out in love. The church community is centered in the metro Detroit communities of Ferndale, a funky inner-ring suburb with a vibrant downtown, and Oak Park, the most ethnically diverse city along 8 Mile (Detroit's northern border). The church is dually affiliated with Vineyard USA and the American Baptist Churches of Michigan. The ideal candidate will be a mature Christian who loves Jesus, is led by the Holy Spirit, operating within their spiritual gifts, with previous pastoral experience, as well as leadership in transition settings. The candidate should be an effective communicator, a proven leader, and able to relate effectively in a diverse community setting. Additionally, they bring a mindset of discipleship multiplication and connection outside the walls of the church to everything they do. Responsibilities include pastoral care, strategic leadership, preaching and teaching, leadership development and ministry equipping, administration, and missional engagement. The senior pastor will report directly to the church board of directors, on which they will serve. Highly qualified candidates will receive a follow-up email with 12-15 short essay questions describing how they'd respond to important leadership scenarios based on their previous ministry experience. This will be followed by an interview (virtual or in-person) with members of our Board and the Pastoral Selection Advisory Team. A second interview may be requested. The most qualified candidates will be invited to meet and minister to the whole church.
