This person will have the responsibility of pastoring BCC's children, youth, and young adults, focusing on both evangelism and discipleship.
The primary responsibility for this person across all ministry areas will be identifying, recruiting, and developing lay leaders to staff children, youth,
and young adult ministries. This person will empower lay leaders to utilize weekly programming, interpersonal ministry, and other events to reach the next generation,
and will be responsible for launching a young adult ministry at BCC. This person will be expected to have a "hands-on" responsibility in our middle and high school youth ministry.
1. Youth Ministry (50%, 20-25 hours per week)
a. Be the key leader for Youth Group and Sunday School programming.
b. Be the primary teacher, while also utilizing others to fill the teaching role as needed.
c. Research and select curriculum as needed.
d. Identify and recruit lay leaders that are able to effectively minister to teenagers.
e. Provide one-on-one and small group discipleship opportunities for students.
f. Identify and empower student leaders as active contributors to Youth Group, Sunday School, and special events.
g. Plan events outside of typical programming at least twice per quarter.
h. Plan two camps, retreats, or conferences per year.
i. Meet with leadership team at least 2 times per year.
2. Children's Ministry (20%, 6-8 hours per week)
a. Support and invest in key lay leaders including the AWANA Commander, Sunday School coordinator, and Children's Church coordinator.
b. Identify and develop potential future key leaders.
c. Identify and recruit lay leaders that are able to effectively minister to children.
d. Research and select curriculum to be used in Children's ministry.
e. Implement a plan for children's outreach.
f. Meet with leadership team at least 2 times per year.
3. Young Adult Ministry (20%, 6-8 hours per week)
a. Build a young adult ministry from the ground up.
b. Identify and recruit potential leaders.
c. Develop a regular program offering focused on discipleship.
4. Other Duties (10%, 3-4 hours per week)
a. Attend weekly staff meetings.
b. Meet with BCC Elders monthly.
c. Perform other duties as assigned.
