CLA's Children's Ministries exist to come alongside families in leading children into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and to provide a loving place for them to grow in that relationship.
As the Pastor of Children, and families, you serve under the direct supervision of the Lead Pastor. You are a leader, a minister, and an educator. In this capacity your concern is not only for the salvation and discipleship of the children placed in your charge, but also the growth, both spiritually and intellectually, of the leadership under you. You also serve as a liaison between the Lead Pastor and the Children's Ministries staff.
This ministry targets children birth through 6th grade and their families.
Ministry Responsibilities: Under your charge are all children Nursery-6th Grade (Life Kids Ministry) and the Families associated with the Church.
I. Direct the Ministry Coordinators under your care in recruiting and training workers, planning, implementation, problem solving and resource procurement.
A. Meet with key leaders every 4-6 weeks for vision casting, exchange of information, trouble shooting, training, and prayer. B. Each sub-department (nursery, preschool, kids church, and elementary teachers) should have a quarterly meeting with their ministry leader for information and training. These meetings should be led by the individual ministry director under your guidance. C. At least annually, conduct teacher training or arrange for staff to attend a children's ministry conference. This should be required for all Children's Ministry personnel. D. Conduct new teacher training as necessary. E. Pray earnestly for the leadership under you and keep in at least biweekly contact with them for oversight, encouragement, and connection. F. Continually evaluate the various ministries by visiting classrooms and by talking with the individual ministry leaders, the teachers, the children and the parents.
II. Plan and lead the Children's Services (including Pre and Post Services) classes and the outreach events. The frequency of these events should be determined by you and the Lead Pastor in relation to felt need and current church growth and attendance. The subordinate responsibilities involved in these events should be delegated as much as is reasonable and appropriate.
Experiencing Worship, The Study
Used by churches all over the world to help teach worship, the Experiencing Worship study can help your worship team too.
Your team will learn why we worship and gain a better understanding of how to worship.
