Apply for This Job Lead Pastor Christ Chapel AoG Woodbridge, VA Posted: March 18, 2021     Job Information: Christ Chapel is a diverse, dynamic, multicultural, multiethnic, and multigenerational church located directly south of the Metro DC Beltway just off Interstate-95, in Woodbridge, VA. The Church is approximately 30 miles from downtown Washington DC. Christ Chapel services the eastern Prince William County area and is a suburban community of approximately 68,000 residents. Principle Function The Senior Pastor is responsible for providing vision and overall direction and administration of all church ministries, operations, programs and services; for providing leadership and nourishment for the church; and for using his spiritual gifts and skills in proclamation and pastoral care in meeting the needs of persons in the church and community. Responsibilities: • Serve as the staff elder on the Board of Elders; • Function as the chief administrator for the total church program; • Give oversight to any Ministries Board and Executive Board with other elders and ministry leaders; • Proclaim the gospel to church members and the lost world; • Develop and monitor a plan for equipping the church body to perform works of ministry by the use of their spiritual gifts; • Lead the staff and the church in a caring ministry for persons in the church and the community; • Lead or delegate the leadership of the congregational services; plan, coordinate and evaluate congregational services; • Preach in all worship services or arrange for someone else to lead in your absence; • Serve as co-moderator with the chairman of the Board of Elders in presiding over congregational meetings; • Recommend and advise on the selection of all staff members and in determining their duties; • Give supervision to other members of the church staff according to the staff organizational structure set forth in the Organizational Chart of staff leadership; • Plan for and provide leadership in the observance of church ordinances; • Conduct funeral services and wedding ceremonies, as he is able, sharing and delegating to others on the staff responsibilities in this area; • Counsel with and assist in training deacons and ministry leaders for their responsibilities; Requirements: • A calling from God to be Pastor of Christ Chapel, Woodbridge, VA; • Ordained in the Assemblies of God Church; • Extensive ministry experience, must include significant pulpit teaching experience; • At least 5 years of leadership ministry experience, prefer some executive pastor or church administrator experience or equivalent; • A relational and engaging personality that tends to value people; • An ability to work with people and relate to varying ethnicities, socio-economic levels, and generations; • A personal history of small group involvement; • A growing Christian faith and character of integrity; • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; • A commitment to the mission and values of Christ Chapel; • Understanding of, agreement and willingness to serve within the doctrinal commitments of the church; • Be committed to small groups as a key strategy for church growth and discipleship; • A lifestyle of integrity congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9); • If married, a spouse who is in complete agreement with this position; *These responsibilities and requirements are not all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned as necessary.
