First United Methodist Church (FUMC)-Jefferson City, Missouri

FUMC is seeking a full-time Director of Church Operations. The Full-Time Director of Church Operations reports to the Senior Pastor and has responsibility for overseeing all aspects of fiscal management, property management, information technology, human resources, and general administration for FUMC. This position interacts directly with FUMC Sustaining and Transforming Teams by providing regular operational updates and partnering to ensure proactive, responsible fiscal, property, and human resource management.

The ideal candidate will have:

Qualities of being a mission-minded, self-directed, self-assertive, team player, who is flexible with others' ideas and is self-identified as being a member of the Christian faith

Ability to be the primary caretaker of the finances and church property of FUMC.

Ability to thrive in a complex multi-priority environment

3 or more years prior experience in a business administrative or business operations role in a non-profit organization

5 or more years management experience, including recruiting, hiring, training, directing, evaluating, compensating, and releasing employees

Possess CCA certification or a willingness to attain

Proven ability within a non-profit organization to successfully participate in the development of and leading a team to execute an operational plan to achieve FUMC's mission and vision

Previous fiscal management and analysis, accountability with successful experience creating, articulating on a committee level, and managing budgets and ensuring effective organizational policies and controls

Demonstrated ability to effectively represent FUMC by building and maintaining effective relationships with all stakeholders including congregation members and visitors, Pastors, and other applicable church and community organizations, as well as the statewide UMC annual conference

Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule including occasional meetings on evenings and Sundays and worship offering responsibilities
