Worship Pastor Expectations
-This is a pastoral position that will focus on making disciples through the music ministry. (Matthew 28:18-10, 1 Tim. 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-11)
-Be actively leading his family to pursue Christ, make disciples, and minister to people.
-Love for the Lord, His Word, and People. (Matthew 22:36-40)
-Relate to people across all generations with intentionality, ease, and sincerity.
-Teach scripture in word and song, and to connect biblical truths to songs. (Col. 3:15-17)
-Plan worship services cooperatively with the Lead Pastor, and potentially a few others. The flow of the songs, scripture reading, media, and other material needs to connect with the truth, tone, and message of the text.
-Teach and shepherd the members of the worship ministry by leading them in discipleship as a group, ministering to their needs, and shepherding their hearts.
-Meet regularly with 2-3 men for personal discipleship on an ongoing basis. (Matt. 28:18-20, 2 Tim. 2:2)
-Foster and mentor future generations of worship pastors who think biblically, lead biblically, and who make disciples. The first focus is within the family of BSBC, and then with students of Baptist colleges.
-Grow the ministry by leading well, identifying prospective members, and using members in the ministry.
-Lead the overall worship ministry to have a mission focus by using their personal time, and their personal and collective skills to do ministry in, and to the community of Bartlesville.
-Be able to play multiple instruments and be able to teach young musicians at BSBC.
-Minister to the community outside of the church as a disciple rather than a staff member. This might include volunteering at a local school to help with the vocal or instrumental program, and/or playing at the Bartlesville Symphony (https://www.bartlesvillesymphony.org), or leading community events in which a pastor's children are involved.
