Apply for This Job Student Ministry Pastor SUMMIT CHURCH NILES, MI Posted: September 10, 2020     Job Information: GENERAL SUMMARY: The primary function will be to provide oversight for Summit Youth Ministry, being responsible for all aspects of ensuring the spiritual growth and development of students grades seven (7) through twelve (12). REPORTS TO: Lead Pastor and/or his designee WORK SCHEDULE: To minister effectively at Summit Church means one must be willing to participate fully in the life of Summit Church. Full time employees are expected to work 40-50 hours a week. Maintaining a relationship with God and family is a high priority. ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES: Align all Student Ministry through the purpose and process of Summit Church. Provide oversight and vision (scope & sequence) for all aspects of Student Ministries at Summit Church in order to disciple students toward becoming fully devoted followers of Christ. Provide leadership of weekly programs and special events for students (leadership development, conferences, trips, service projects, building testimonies, etc...). Recruit and build a strong cohesive team of volunteers to minister to students. Create and manage a student ministry calendar and annual budget with biblical stewardship. Develop an effective communication strategy with parents. RELATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Be available to meet with students, parents, and community leaders/members when they are able. This job requires evenings and weekends. There is an expectation to connect with students and parents on their time schedule and turf (i.e. school visits, one-on-one meetings, student events, etc.). Seek, build, and advocate relational connections with middle and high school students in our surrounding community by proactively engaging with other area student ministries and leadership. Provide pastoral care to youth volunteers, students, and families of Summit Church. Student ministry is parent ministry. Be responsible for biblically accurate, culturally relevant, and engaging teaching of students. Be familiar with current technologies, social media, etc. that is relevant to the modern student. TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES: Be available for interaction and collaboration with the Summit Church staff in all areas of ministry and special projects or events. We work closely together as a team. Attend weekly staff meetings in order to develop cross ministry cooperation and advance communication between the student ministry and the rest of the Summit Church staff. Meet weekly with the Lead Pastor for coaching and mentoring, as well as to report and inform on ministry progress. Use your spiritual gifts to the best of your God-given ability to lead people to follow Christ.
