Overview: The St. Charles Campus Worship Pastor is the point person for the worship ministry of Calvary Church at the campus level. This person casts vision, leads worship, recruits volunteers, champions ministry, works to train volunteers to serve their best in the ministry team while providing pastoral care and up-front worship leadership to the campus.
Role Descriptions:
Reports directly to the Campus Pastor. Full-time role (40 hrs a week) with benefits. Member of the St. Charles Campus Team. Works alongside worship leaders from other campuses. Is a vital part of church life outside of worship arts.
Tasks Include:
Recruiting and leading a volunteer worship band. Plans and executes a mid-week rehearsal. Works with the Ministry Team to execute church wide service elements when appropriate to campus context. Recruits volunteers to implement stage design. Handles the tech needs of the campus, primarily in the worship center, but also helping with the tech needs of the campus as a whole. Pastors worship team by celebrating their service, caring for them in their life circumstances, and loving who they are more than what they do. Is educated on latest worship practices and trends and applies them wisely to our church context and congregation. Plans and executes bi-annual worship gatherings at the campus level. Helps the Ministry Team execute church wide worship nights. Meets with the St. Charles Campus Team every other week. Meets with the ministry team whenever there is a scheduled creative team meeting. Attends staff meetings bi-monthly. (All Staff, Pastoral Staff)
Skills and Character Needed:
Follower of Christ who is spiritually and emotionally mature. Hard working, self-starting attitude. Skilled vocally, instrumentally, and technically with programs such as Pro Presenter. Personal skills used to relate with volunteers and mediate conflict. Professional skills such as communication, organization, and flexibility. Willingness to learn and grow in role. High commitment level to family, church, staff, and community. Ability to place volunteers in positions to be successful. Ability to provide a high level worship experience on Sundays. Ability to use basic programs such as Google Docs, Google Calendar, and Planning Center. Ability to do basic sound wiring. A passion to be a part of something bigger than oneself.
