Of Worship Ministries and More

John 10:10, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

We all know how sin can ruin our lives. The decisions we make can cause us to lose our jobs, families, friends and more. We tend to think that some sins only affect us and no one else. I've heard people say, "getting drunk doesn't hurt anyone but the drinker. It's the sins like lying, murder and stealing that are the real sins because they affect others as well".

I am a believer that all sin affects more than just the person committing the sin. I also believe that Satan's desire is to use sin to destroy your lives. As a Worship Pastor, I have seen sin ruin not only lives but ministries. When someone in a ministry or leadership position sins, the affects are enormous.

What does this have to do with worship? The Worship Team is made up of people. People sin. What we do each week occurs because of the input and talents of many lives. We have a host of singers, instrumentalists, techs and more. Each person carries a crucial role in the team. When one sins and is removed from that team, the whole ministry suffers. The unity and family spirit is torn apart. The trust and love is temporarily scared. Lives are crushed and dreams become only memories. When a team member falls, they take the whole team with them.

If you are in a leadership position in your worship ministry, I encourage you to keep this message before your people. What each of us do affects the whole ministry. We work for years to gain credibility and see it all washed down the tube with a single fall. Worship is something Satan hates and he works day and night to cause it to cease.

Commit today to pray for your people and those involved in your ministry. Pray that God keep them from sin. Pray that God keep you from sin that would destroy lives. I want to say there is grace for every situation. God forgives and forgets. When people sin they need forgiveness from us and grace to be restored. However, the damage that is done will take some time to heal and correct. When we are on the platform doing ministry, we have a higher calling and responsibility. Whether we want to believe it or not we are all called to live holy lives. If we don't keep are people and ourselves lifted up in prayer, we will see Satan become victorious in destroying ministries, families and lives.
