Romans 5:1, 2 “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.”
We sing the words that “You are the Reason”, but do we stop to really think about why He is the reason we worship? I’ve always loved Jewish history and I’m so glad that in His compassion He sent His Son to die for me and that I was not doomed to be forever outside of His family. How lost mankind was and what a dark world He was born into. No wonder that the Apostle John described Him as the Light of the World. Our salvation is not our right, it is a gift that we could never have earned. We never could have been perfect enough to be worth the gift of God’s Son. So the next time you are singing “You are the Reason”, remember that He is the only reason that today we can stand justified before the throne of God and He remembers our sin no more. We are the children of God, not by right, but by grace.
