JOB DESCRIPTIONTITLE: WORSHIP LEADER/ DIRECTOR OF CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
PCOM is looking for a dynamic, innovative person to create, direct, and produce the contemporary worship service. The Worship Leader/Director of Contemporary Worship will have the freedom to develop an inspiring, culturally relevant and memorable worship experience for multi-generational believers and seekers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with the Pastor, the Music Ministry Team, and the technical support staff, to create a cohesive, impactful, spiritually significant Sunday contemporary worship service.
Lead, shape and oversee the entire worship culture of the contemporary worship service, coordinating all elements of the content, including music and technology.
Develop volunteer based worship music teams and oversee/conduct regular rehearsals in order to assure compelling worship experiences led by instrumental/vocal excellence.
Develop and train those in the PCOM church community with appropriate spiritual and musical gifts to serve on the music ministry team.
Attend staff meetings, Music Ministry Team meetings and worship and Music Committee meetings as necessary.
Promote the contemporary worship service both within the church and in the community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A mature, strong, and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Gifted in music as an expression of faith and creative artistic discernment.
Excellent instrumental and vocal abilities.
Strong visionary, planning, organizational and administrative skills.
Fluency in contemporary music and young adult culture.
Effective team builder and motivator.
Competent communicator; both interpersonal and public.
Willingness to consider PCOM your church home.
RELATIONSHIPS:
The Director will work closely with the Pastor, the Technical Support Staff, the Director of Worship and Music, and the Worship and Music Committee.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Director of Contemporary Worship is accountable to the Pastor and the Session of Presbyterian Church of the Master.
EVALUATION:
The job performance of the Director of Contemporary Worship will be evaluated annually by the Pastor.
HOURS: Negotiable (likely to be less than full time).
SALARY: Based on experience.
