Job Description:
Ministry: Overall leadership, planning, development, promotion, and ongoing evaluation and improvement of the components listed and added in the future for the purpose of praise & worship.
Components: Worship Planning (overall planning, coordination, and leadership of all times of worship), Technical Systems (sound, lighting, etc.), Orchestra/Praise Band, Adult Choir, Vocal Praise Teams, Children's Choir & Drama, Soloists/Groups/Ensembles, Adult Drama, Hand Bell Choir, Additional tasks requested or as deemed necessary.
Administration: Overall stewardship, accountability for, organization of, and participation with the resources of people, time, finances, facilities, and equipment entrusted to Magnification Ministries by Grace Church.
Components: Magnification Ministries Budget, Magnification Team Meetings (meeting with all ministry staff from the Magnification areas of ministry, Staff meetings (meeting with all ministry and/or administrative staff), Magnification Ministries Leadership Team (A team of lay-ministry leaders), Room Usage/Calendar Management
Professional Development: Renew and develop personal knowledge, ideas, professional relationships, and further educational pursuits in order to remain current and fresh in ministry pursuits related to praise & worship.
Components:Worship/Teaching Preparation, Professional Training & Development (includes conferences, seminars, etc.), Education (pursuits of certifications & degrees for the benefit of magnification ministries), Networking (building relationships with other professionals within like-minded churches & ministries), Mentoring Opportunities (Support & assistance offered to other local churches & ministries)
Misc. Pastoral Duties: Provide general pastoral duties as needed or assigned by the Senior Pastor, Administrative Pastor or magnification Team Leader.
General Qualifications/Giftedness: This person should have a demonstrated passion for worship. He should be a mature and growing Christian with skill as a musician. An earned bachelor's or master's level degree in a complimentary field of study is preferred. He should also have proven experience in ministry; experience with managing a staff is a plus. He must have the demonstrated ability to duplicate himself through leader & teacher training. Effectiveness as a leader of volunteers and/or ministry staff is highly desired He must meet the Biblical qualifications as an elder.
Reporting Relationship(s): He will report to the Senior Pastor & Administrative Pastor. This person will work closely with the Senior Pastor & Magnification Ministries Leadership Team. This person may be asked to lead or manage a staff of both paid staff & unpaid volunteer leaders.
Grace Church is located in Des Moines, Iowa and currently is home to approximately 2200 members and 1300 attenders
