Knox United Church, 100 years strong in music & worship, located on scenic Vancouver Island, BC, Canada, has an immediate opening for a Director of Music Ministries. In this half-time position (minimum 20 hr/wk), integrate the music program, partnering with two existing Ordered Ministers in a congregation of 450. Enjoy the perfected acoustics of recently expanded modern, flexible space with professional computer & lighting technology. Lead a support group of musicians and a 60+ voice (non-audition) choir. Facilitate all music for Sunday worship with a contemporary focus, special services, seasonal worship & events. On request, arrange & conduct music for weddings & funerals for an honorarium. Bring your min. 5+ yrs of leading congregational Music Ministry, excellent accompanist skills (preferably piano- ours is a grand), ability in choral arranging, transposing, & leadership; your strong background in the use of contemporary music; and your familiarity and comfort with United Church ethos and theology.
