Director of Youth and FamiliesFor an enthusiastic and magnetic person, here is an opportunity to serve as part of the staff for an historic, forward-looking church. This position will be asked to foster our youth programs for all ages, with a special emphasis on junior and senior high school youth.
Youth Programming
Will work with the Senior Minister and the Board of Christian Education to set a vision for the program
Lead the program and be it's "face"
Recruit and oversee volunteers
Enlist and guide student leaders
Ensure regular communications with kids and parents
Create weekly/monthly community service calendar and host social events
Confirmation Class
Assist Senior Minister with Confirmation class
Christian Education and Family Ministries
Will work with Senior Minister and the Board of Christian Education to set a vision for lifelong spiritual growth
Recruit and oversee volunteers
Oversee curriculum/supplies as set by Board of Christian Education
Train Teachers
Oversee the Sunday Morning Nursery & arrange volunteers
Encourage retreats, small groups and mission opportunities in which relationships may flourish and faith may grow.
General
Expected to attend regular staff meetings
Attend meetings of the Board of Christian Education (when requested)
Work within budgets of time, funds and personal energy
IT knowledge and expertise essential for communication
Maintain conduct worthy of one's calling to Christian Ministry
The Director of Youth and Families is currently a part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week, evening and weekend hours are essential); with the possibility of going full-time in the near future.
