Children's Choir Director
Peace United Methodist Church, a growing congregation in Brookfield, Wisconsin is searching for a part-time Children's Choir Director. We are seeking individuals who will joyfully and enthusiastically lead our Children's Choir in celebrative, meaningful worship. Successful candidates for the Director position will have music teaching experience with elementary-age children preferred. A strong Christian faith, and effective communications skills (both verbal and written) are required. Additionally, positive interpersonal relationship skills with both children and adults are essential. Candidates must also work well in a team setting and possess the ability to continue/grow the respective music program(s).
Director must be comfortable with a variety of musical genres, relate well to all ages and see music in the life of the church as an act of worship. Giving children the opportunities to express their faith through music.
The Children's Music Director will select repertoire, order music, prepare rehearsals and direct the choir for worship services and special events. It is essential that the Children's Choir operate under our Safe Sanctuary Guidelines. The choir sings an average of 1 time per month. The time commitment will average 2 hours per week, to include 30 minutes of .
choir practice on Sundays.
