Newport Center United Methodist Church, located in Corona del Mar, California is seeking a permanent, part- time (10 to 15 hours per week) Director of Music Ministries. Our vision is to help people connect with Jesus, each other, and the world, and we are seeking someone who is able to use the gift of music to help make those connections happen. We are a family sized church and offer a blended style of worship on Sunday mornings. This position reports to the pastor and is responsible for the organization and direction of the Chancel Choir, Handbell Choir, and Worship Band, as well as the supervision of the Children's Choir.
Additional responsibilities include participation in staff meetings, worship planning with the pastor, and participation in special worship events during Advent, Lent, etc.
Essential qualifications for this position are: B.A. or B.F.A in music with proficiency in either piano or guitar, church choral conducting experience, knowledge of Christian music from traditional hymns to modern worship music, and the ability to select music to complement worship themes.
The successful candidate will have a positive and encouraging attitude necessary to recruit, enhance and nurture the musical abilities within the congregation.
Salary range $17,000 to $19,000 per year.

This is the debut album by EXW friend Paul Langford. Paul is a Chicago based singer, arranger, keyboardist, producer and conductor. Paul has a career that spans 14 years. Paul's work includes arranging for groups like GLAD, Voices of Liberty, VoiceTrek, The Chicago based "Caroling Party" and Day of Discovery Singers. His arranging has appeared on recordings side by side with greats like Gene Puerling and David Maddux, and he has sung with Don Shelton, Bonnie Herman and Bob Bowker, among others.
