Description
Think like a child, implement like an adult. This full-time high level position is responsible for overseeing, developing and implementing effective ministry to children, birth through 5th grade and act as a consultant for our multi-site campuses. The Director of Children's Ministries will be a leader of leaders, highly relational and have a team mentality as they lead staff and volunteer teams to develop children spiritually and relationally through the weekend/special services and events. The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for Jesus Christ, the vision of The Crossing, and a vibrant passion for reaching and developing children to become fully devoted followers of Christ.
Ok, enough of the cut and dry stuff. What is this all about, really? You know the culture of a kid and love leading big people. It's very left-brainy, right-brainy type of work, and you manage it well with nary a breakdown. Special skills? Dunno. Puppetry? Robot dancing? Yodeling? Sure, why not.
A bachelor's degree as well as a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role in ministry or children's education is required.
Position Requirements
Oversee, direct and develop the Children's Ministry paid staff.
Facilitate a visioning process to move paid staff and volunteers in a common direction, aligning consistently with the mission, vision, and values of The Crossing.
Be proactive in understanding the culture surrounding today's generation of children and families.
Oversee the development and implementation of strategies that engage children in dynamic spiritual experiences and transformational relationships through weekend, special services/events, and classes.
Continually evaluate trends in Children's Ministry, implementing the best quality program for children while evaluating sustainability with volunteer staffing.
Develop a strategy for reaching children with Special Needs.
Oversee the development of a leadership and training model to empower volunteer leaders in a sustainable way.
Proactively evaluate and recommend solutions for expanding ministry needs (e.g. physical space, staffing, financial resources, etc.)
