Job Description:
Job Summary: Assists the Food Service in operation and execution of the Grain of Heaven Culinary Arts Ministry. Candidate should have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintain a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of the church, and faithfully uphold First Mount Zion Baptist Church in prayer. Must be able to pass a background check, possess a valid driver license and be willing to travel. Rotational weekend schedule is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assists the Food Service Director in establishing and maintaining systems and procedures for ordering, receiving, storing, preparing and serving food and related products, as well as menu planning and development. Estimates food and beverage costs and requisitions to purchases supplies. Forecasts sales and expenses. Assists in reviewing financial transactions and monitoring budget to ensure efficient operation, and to ensure expenditures stay within budget limitations. Ensures requirements for appropriate sanitation and safety levels are met. Conducts inventory. Assists in writing procedures; keeps procedural manuals up to date; compiles data for reports; conducts quality assurance surveys and inspections; develops plan of corrective action accordingly. Supports ministry needs and special events. Establishes and maintains effective member and vendor client relationships. Takes a lead role in developing, nurturing, ministering to and managing a group of volunteer servants. Other duties may be assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Experience in culinary arts leadership, safety and sanitation
Experience in recruiting and organizing ministry servants
Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Experience in motivating of others to realize their ministry potential
Coaching and mentoring skills.
Compassion and love for the people of God.
Able to work in a team environment.
Ability to research and grow the ministry
Develop and implement a concise ministry servant program
Abide by guidelines for maintaining confidentially and trust
Performs other duties as required for the success of the ministry
Track record of successful recruitment/equipping/training of adult unpaid ministry servants.
Education / Requirements
A high school diploma (some college preferred but not mandatory), 2 years of culinary experience or industry & management experience is required.
Salary: Full-time with a salary range of $43,104.00 - $49,500.00 depending upon experience. 401(k), medical insurance, dental insurance and leave benefits
