MINISTER OF EVANGELISM AND DISCIPLESHIP
The Minister of Evangelism and Discipleship will share our vision “To Discover Christ and Display His Transforming Power.” This man or woman will have a graduate degree in ministry (or equivalent) with at least 4 years of practical ministry experience in a local church in the areas of evangelism and/or discipleship.
Under the leadership of the Senior Pastor, the successful candidate will develop and articulate the vision and plans that will engage and energize others to embrace God’s mission in the areas of Evangelism and Discipleship. He will be able to build consensus on that vision, first with the leadership and then with the congregation.
This man or woman will display a passion to encourage and equip believers to share the love of God, model that love and win people to Christ. He will himself be a committed follower of Christ who is passionate about helping adult followers of Christ connect with one another and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. He must be a “leader of leaders,” an excellent communicator in one-on-one, small and large group settings, and be a team player.
MED POSITION DESCRIPTION
Purpose
To assist the Senior Pastor in the spiritual care and development of the congregation by bringing passion and leadership to WSBC discipleship and evangelism -- equipping adults to know Christ and display His transforming power.
Goals
1. To provide leadership and vision to the Discipleship ministries.
2. To provide leadership and vision to the Evangelism ministries (local outreach).
3. To assist in the task of equipping the congregation for ministry both within and outside the walls of the church.

2. Evangelism
a. Outreach strategy
b. Equipping the body
Responsibilities
1. Work with the Senior Pastor and church leadership in carrying out the church’s vision.
2. Provide guidance and support to the Discipleship Committee and its ministries.
3. Provide guidance and support to the Evangelism Committee and its ministries.
4. Design and implement lay leadership development programs in coordination with the Senior Pastor and church leadership.
5. Promote and support small groups.
6. Teach adult classes and Bible studies as needed.
7. Design and implement local outreach strategies.
8. Carry-out other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor (occasional preaching, counseling, visitation, etc.)
