Job Description:
St. Paul's Summerville is searching for a permanent, part-time Rector's Assistant for Music. The ideal candidate is an experienced and enthusiastic music leader who has a maturing relationship with Christ Jesus and will create an environment of authentic praise and worship for our contemporary services. This is a salaried position. The deadline for applications to be received is October 2, 2008.
Skills Needed:
Excellent vocal/musical skills.
Strong interpersonal skills to recruit, mentor and motivate volunteer Praise Team members.
Ability to develop vocalists' and instrumentalists' musical talents.
Ability to select music, direct weekly rehearsals and introduce new music from a variety of sources.
Knowledge of Sunday Plus and/or other software applications is a plus.
Responsibilities include:
Being the spiritual leader of the Praise Team.
Shepherding a team of vocalists and instrumentalists to lead praise music on Sunday mornings.
Leading Sunday worship (contemporary and liturgical) in shared ministry with the Rector and other clergy.
Providing music leadership for special events throughout the year.
Overseeing the Praise Team budget and management of the CCLI license.
Participation in weekly staff meetings.

His arranging has appeared on recordings side by side with greats like Gene Puerling and David Maddux, and he has sung with Don Shelton, Bonnie Herman and Bob Bowker, among others.
