Who Are We?
Grace Fellowship Church is an evangelical, non-denominational church located in Johnson City, Tennessee between the beautiful Appalachian and Smokey Mountains. Our weekly average attendance is around 1500. In May of 2008 we moved into a brand new 12,0000 square foot state-of-the-art student facility which includes both a worship auditorium and a youth café. Our middle school ministry is one of our core ministries within our Family Life Ministry. Our desire is to have an intentional integrated ministry process, nursery through high school.
What are we looking for in a Middle School Student Minister?
Someone who can provide oversight, strategic leadership, accountability and excellence in all areas of middle school ministry while supporting the overall Family Life Philosophy of Grace Fellowship Church.
Key Responsibilities:
Create a dynamic Middle School Ministry that is relevant to students in 6th-8th grades.
Work with the Director of Student Ministries to develop on-going ministry strategy, training and vision to accomplish ministry philosophy and long-range goals throughout the entire student ministry experience.
Recruit, train, guide and mentor adult youth “coaches” for participation in the middle school ministry.
Continued development of ministry programming opportunities for Large Group and Small Group environments.
Evangelize and develop team-strategies for students to take ownership in the ministry
Develop on-going discipleship opportunities for students to mature in their faith and in their walk with the Lord
Create and implement regular extra-curricular activities including: annual mission trips, service projects and other opportunities for spiritual growth and fellowship.
Maintain communication and positive relationships with parents and families.
Develop and maintain a positive presence in the community lives of Middle School students, including relationships with teachers and administration in local schools, attendance of school and outside recreational activities.

Relevant education in church leadership
At least three years experience serving in a large church student ministry
Giftedness and ability to teach
Ability to clearly communicate God’s Word to students
Life-long learner
Relational
This person will have a genuine love for middle school students, desire to win students to Christ and see them discipled in their faith.
