New Life is a vibrant community of faith located in Lake County, Florida. Worship attendance: in excess of 600; membership close to 800 and growing. New Life worships in a blended format favoring multiple means of musical expression within the worship experience.In June our new Lead Pastor arrived. As this new chapter and vision unfolds we seek to build within our existing and possibly new services more varied musical expressions while practicing our faith at times through special music both in Sunday worship and on other occasions.
Level of Experience/ Compensation Range
We seek a Director with three to five years of experience. This person must see the value of all styles of music and expressions in worship. The ability to work with a choir with varied abilities while able to accept them where they are and affirm them as they lead worship is essential. Our new Director will see all musical expressions as worship not performance.The salary range is $38,000 - $45,000 with benefits.
GENERAL EXPECTATION:
The vision of New Life Presbyterian Church is to grow and nurture a church family that will attract non-churched people and equip them to choose to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Each member of the church staff will work faithfully in support of this vision.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: (80%)
Ministry of Music (80%)
Responsible for oversight of all music ministries of the church in the capacity of director. Supervise and manage volunteer directors and accompanist
Direct adult choirs and increase their involvement in Sunday worship. If needed direct handbell choirs and any other ensemble or choir needs for the church.
Organize all special music engagements that the church either hosts or leads as a means of offering praise, glory and honor to God.
Actively seek to develop additional music ministries of New Life Presbyterian Church.
Works with the other pastors, worship coordinator, and other music staff to plan and coordinate weekly worship services.
Develops additional music ministries for the church
Coordinates music for other church events (such as weddings and funerals) as requested.
Serves as staff resource to the Worship Committee
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: (10%)Care
Assists with general pastoral caras needed especially of choirs and their families and encourage those involved in the music ministries of the church to be engaged in the discipleship and ministry of New Life Presbyterian Church.
Administration and Congregational Development (10%) Participates in the work of the Session
Works with church staff to identify needs and develop strategies for carrying out the mission of the congregation
Serves as staff resource to committees of Session as assigned by the Lead Pastor
