Job Title: Minister to Children and their Families Responsible to: Staff Parish and Senior Pastor Summary: Vision, recruit, train and coordinate our church mission as it relates to children and their families. The Primary Expectations of this Position are:
A vital and vibrant Sunday church school ministry with children, kindergarten through 6th grade.
A quality, weekday ministry with children in our church and in our community, 1st through 6th grade (WOW, JAM, ROCK).
Compelling Christian education and fellowship opportunities for the parents of our children (fellowship groups, Sunday School classes, etc).
An engaging summer Christian education program for children, 1st grade through 6th grade (includes and is not exclusive to VBS).
A nurturing worship childcare program with children infant to five years old.
A challenging and affirming confirmation class with children entering the 6th grade.
A children friendly environment where children can feel included in the life of the congregation and have opportunities to share and grow their faith. Coordination Expectations of the Position:
Age appropriate programs based on needs as defined by Nurture Committee and/or Senior Pastor.
Recruit, train, and support program for volunteers with the Children's Ministry.
Reporting concerns and trends to appropriate boards.
Assist and ensure a children's music program, (grades 1-6) with our music minister.
Participation in continuing education events and networking with other Christian educators with children to strengthen our children's ministry Minimal Requirements:
Must be of high Christian character
Must be well acquainted with age level characteristics and needs of children
Must have strong people skills in working with volunteers and staff College degree preferred in the areas of education, childhood development or extensive experience in children's ministry.

His arranging has appeared on recordings side by side with greats like Gene Puerling and David Maddux, and he has sung with Don Shelton, Bonnie Herman and Bob Bowker, among others.
