Position Description Youth director (Faith Baptist Church of Skagit Valley, James W. Shaw, Pastor) Qualifications: Born again, serious Christian Lover of God and the Word God Ability to disciple high school youth Ability to train others to do Biblical youth work Industrious and self-disciplined Growing personality – meeting the ongoing challenges of personal discipleship Optimistic personality Think life is fun ('cause we're serious, sort of) Responsibilities: 1. To model the Christian life Love for the Lord Discipleship Personal purity and a Biblical sexuality Godly family relationships Biblical priorities Sacrifice Personal and corporate Bible Study and prayer Diligence Sacrifice A balanced, involved Church body life 2. To disciple teens by modeling and teaching Evangelizing the lost Identifying with Christ in baptism United with a local church Led to serious personal Bible study Forge Biblical convictions Personal sexual purity Godly, spiritual dating Family harmony A vision of service Honoring God with their tithes and offerings 3. To bring teens into the total church program - by modeling and encouraging participation in regular services such as SS, AM, Prayer, Work days, etc. 4. To lead in social and service activities 5. To bring teens from being consumers to being spiritual producers 6. To teach them to be leaders today, not just for the church of tomorrow 7. To lead teens to a healthy realization of their personal worth before God - To be a trusted validator of their value 8. To lead in the teaching, training and discipline of teens 9. To lead teens to be stewards of their time, talents, and treasures
