Job Description:
Evangelical Free Church of Columbia is seeking a Senior Pastor to join our Elders, serving the purpose to which God has called us. This position's focus is to teach and equip the body consistent with our vision statement: "Christ’s love at work, transforming lives through the Holy Spirit, to God’s glory."
The Senior Pastor is to glorify Christ through accurate teaching of the Scripture. He gives oversight to the staff, encouraging, exhorting, and leading the pastoral staff to equip the congregation.
We believe the best spiritual gifts for this position are those of teacher and shepherd (pastor).
Requirements:
• Elder qualifications in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
• M. Div. minimum or equivalent seminary degree.
• 5+ years ministry experience as a Teaching or Senior Pastor, or Associate Teaching Pastor in a church with multiple pastoral staff; prefer direct oversight of staff and volunteer ministry leaders.
• An Ephesians 4 mindset as follows;
- Spirit-led drive to be like Christ and direct attention to Him.
- Passion to promote the growth of God’s people.
- Commitment to know and understand God's Word.
• Ability to communicate with passion and clarity, and to cast vision to the church family.
