Job Description:
Saint Paul’s Church of the Nazarene is 47-member congregation with an average of 50 persons in Sunday morning worship. Worship is energizing and spirit-filled with mainly traditional styles. Our mission, Reaching Out to All God’s Children, is at the heart of what we do.
We are currently seeking a pianist/organist who is experienced in many genres of music, such as traditional hymns, contemporary and modern praise, also, will lead congregation in this direction. We are seeking someone who is Spirit Filled, committed and will work with a small church in the quest to improve its music ministry and help our church to grow. This individual will have primary responsibility of organist/pianist and will seek to inspire worship through music.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
• Providing music/accompaniment (primarily piano and organ, but additional instrumental skills are welcomed) for all Sunday morning worship services, choir practices and other services/rehearsals as needed
• Working with church (children, youth and adults) in planning, interacting during rehearsals and collaborating on music selections
• Working with the Pastor, participating in worship planning.
Specific Competencies Include:
• Sight reading skills
• Rehearsal accompanist skills
• Familiarity with a Protestant church service
• Desire to help our church fulfill our mission
• Availability to play for weddings and funerals
Position Profile:
Part time position (approximately 2 hours per week –Worship Service)
Rehearsals – 1 to 1 ˝ hour’s weekly occasionally
Annual compensation range: To be negotiated

Paul's work includes arranging for groups like GLAD, Voices of Liberty, VoiceTrek, The Chicago based "Caroling Party" and Day of Discovery Singers. His arranging has appeared on recordings side by side with greats like Gene Puerling and David Maddux, and he has sung with Don Shelton, Bonnie Herman and Bob Bowker, among others.
