Job Description: Director of Music and Contemporary Worship Leader
Are you naturally gifted in music and worship? Do you have a heart to lead others in passionate worship of our Lord Jesus Christ? We seek a unique individual, capable in both contemporary worship and traditional choir. As part of our team, they would oversee our choir, provide for our children’s choir and begin a contemporary worship experience for 20-30 year olds. This individual will oversee a team of church members who will assist in worship. We seek someone gifted in recruiting, equipping, training, and able to delegate to volunteers, as well as someone with a strong musical background.ABOUT First Presbyterian Church of DuPage
FPCD believes in connecting families and individuals to Christ. FPCD is a church with passion and vision to reach out. We have a new Church building, 6,500 square foot space, which is 3 years old. Since it opened in 2005, our congregation has nearly doubled in size, and continues to develop into a church with purpose, as we seek to grow our average attendance (140+/week).
MINISTRY DESCRIPTION
FPCD is looking for an individual who has the vision to believe God for awesome things. The Director of Music and Worship will provide leadership for volunteer staff and participants in music and worship ministries, and oversee the administration and development of worship ministries. They will work along with the pastor, support and volunteer staff to ensure a cohesive worship experience.
MINISTRY QUALIFICATIONS
•A person who loves God with all their heart, soul and mind and loves their neighbor as themselves.
•A person who is passionate about experiencing personal and corporate worship.
•A person who has a teachable spirit and is willing to train, equip and put others in the spotlight for their own development as leaders (not looking for a one man show).
•Education: B.A. or equivalent not required, but helpful. Training and competence in related ministry. A competent level of theology. Proficient in computer skills.
•Commitment to being apart of and building a team.
•They must evidence the biblical pastoral qualifications (Titus 1:6-9; 1 Timothy 3:1-7) and be in agreement with the principals, doctrine and beliefs of FPCD.
MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Provide leadership, vision and administration for choirs and weekly worship activities.
•Provide pastoral protection and care for volunteer leaders.
•Organize and train volunteer staff for worship ministry.
•Work with/provide oversight for audio and video equipment as well as training and scheduling of those volunteers who run the equipment.
•Maintain working network with other music ministries.
•Meet regularly with the Pastoral staff for prayer, study, feedback and calendar planning.
•Other ministry specialties may be incorporated depending upon giftedness, capabilities, passions and interest.
