Job Description:
Faith United Methodist Church in Schenectady, New York is looking for a part-time Music Director who is comfortable with a variety of music and can play a pipe organ. The position is available July 1, 2008. The church’s organ is a Roosevelt 3 manual rebuilt by Leonard Carlson. There is a Kawai grand piano in the Sanctuary, and a new Pearl River grand piano in the Choir Room.
Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to: directing a church choir, recruiting choir members of all ages, playing the pipe organ and piano, participating in staff meetings, (preferably) the ability to network with other musicians and performing artists to enrich the Outreach program, and computer proficiency. Other than Sunday mornings, there will be additional services such as Lenten, Christmas Eve, etc.
