Job Description:
The First Baptist Church of Westfield is a vibrant congregation seeking to hire a Youth Leader/Assistant Director of Music. We have an outstanding youth program for grades 6-12. The youth ministry’s vision is, “to connect heaven to earth for any youth seeking Christ and willing to grow in a Christian community.” Our youth know one another well, enjoy being together, and know how to 'get down & dirty' in their service to God. The church is also known for its excellent music program and blended worship music. The successful candidate will join our staff to strengthen and coordinate our youth program and enhance our worship experience through contemporary music. We are seeking a person who can assume leadership of our youth activities directed at spiritual growth, positive social activities and local/national mission/service experiences, as well as leadership of 3 children/youth choirs and contemporary music in the worship service. Excellent interpersonal and relational skills with all ages of youth are essential. Keyboard experience is required. Additional instrumental skills, e.g. guitar “a plus”. Paul's work includes arranging for groups like GLAD, Voices of Liberty, VoiceTrek, The Chicago based "Caroling Party" and Day of Discovery Singers. His arranging has appeared on recordings side by side with greats like Gene Puerling and David Maddux, and he has sung with Don Shelton, Bonnie Herman and Bob Bowker, among others.
