Church Musician Job Description 1. The Church Musician is responsible for playing the 10AM Sunday Service, Holy Day Services and other special services during the year, weddings and funerals. 2. The Church Musician is responsible for rehearsing, directing, and recruiting for the adult choir. 3. The Church Musician plans the music for the services, with review by the Rector. A liturgy/music committee works with the Rector and Musician to accomplish the goals for liturgy. 4. The Church Musician develops music education with the congregation to improve their participation. 5. The Church Musician works with the church school and the Christian Formation Director, accompanying their several (1 or 2) special presentations during the year.
Goals for music leadership are: 1. teaching and leading the congregation to participate fully through music in worship. 2. advancement of ‘blended worship’ using a diversity of instrumentation and a range of traditional and contemporary sources and styles of music. 3. recruitment for and development of the Choir. 4. strong performance, accompaniment and choral conducting ability.

His arranging has appeared on recordings side by side with greats like Gene Puerling and David Maddux, and he has sung with Don Shelton, Bonnie Herman and Bob Bowker, among others.
