Job Description:
Atonement Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Rochester, New York is seeking a highly capable and dynamic organist/church musician to meet the music needs for weekly traditional Sunday service. The successful candidate will have a firm grounding in traditional music and liturgical practices. Duties include playing for one traditional service on Sunday, selecting hymns liturgically appropriate for the weekly service, and leading choirs/ensembles for festival services and other occasional services. Qualifications include a Bachelors’ Degree in music performance or equivalent education and experience; proficiency with organ and piano performance; understanding of liturgical worship; experience leading choirs/ensembles; and the ability to work collegially with other church staff and parishioners.
